I don’t throw around comparisons to KOAN Sound or Culprate lightly. That’d be sacrilege, and I’d have to be damn sure I mean it before I even consider it. But goddamn does voljum deserve the comparison.
I feel vindicated that Inspected upped the tune earlier this week, because that draws a clear line between my comparisons and “even roses have thorns.”
The sound design, the smooth jazz sections, the orchestral teases—it all adds up to some pretty mind-blowing stuff. I’m usually pretty verbose, but even I find myself speechless when confronted with this tune.
It’s a self-release, so please give it some extra love today. Throw some coinage at this for BandCamp day and you’re not going to feel an ounce of regret.
