Not only is VALE one of the foremost labels pushing experimental and innovative bass music, but it has a philanthropic motive. The latest VA comp from the groundbreaking imprint is Awareness Vol. II, the second installment in the label’s campaign on behalf of World Autism Awareness Day. All proceeds from the album will go directly to Music for Autism.
This latest collection features heavy-hitters like Subp Yao x Aagentah, DeeZ x Aptic, TRAKA, and so many more. The best part of any VALE compilation is that there are so many new and fresh-faced artists that I can feel both excited and infuriated that I did not discover them on my own.
They were kind enough to let us premiere “Jemu” from VELLE, a talented drum & bass producer and DJ out of North Carolina. Ranging between liquidy smooth to turbulent atmospherics, this kind of spotlight by the label demonstrates that they’re incredibly good at finding high quality contributions from the next generation of vanguards.
We think so highly of VALE that we asked them to host a takeover at The Untz Festival this summer. We can’t entirely take credit, though, because our fans demanded it. Top-tier talent NIK P and Mirror Maze will be holding it down for the team. In fact, NIK P helped create the artwork for this comp along with Lost Signal, and is one of the driving forces for why this label is always on the forefront of the bass community.
