Tiffany Haddish was arrested over the Thanksgiving weekend for driving under the influence, and when asked about it the following day, she was able to turn the ordeal into a well-delivered punchline.
As previously reported, the comedian and musician apparently fell asleep in the middle of the road while her engine was still running in the early hours of Friday (November 24). She was then taken into custody for a DUI.
Later that night, Tiffany had an already-scheduled show at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach and of course, the topic came up. When an audience member asked about what happened “last night,” the Girls Trip star didn’t necessarily admit to the DUI, but she did joke that her prayers for a man with a job were answered.
“What happened last night? I don’t know, you tell me,” she replied. “I don’t know. I don’t know. I mean, [laughs] I had prayed to God to send me a man with a job, preferably in a uniform. God answered my prayers. God is real.”

If the 43-year-old is charged with a DUI for the incident in California, it would be her second. In early 2022, she was arrested under similar circumstances when the Peachtree City Police Department in Georgia was alerted about her dozing off behind the wheel, for which she is set to appear in court on December 4.
In more positive news, Haddish has been actively working toward resurrecting her rap career. Though she is best known for her comedy and acting roles, people often forget that she can spit too.
In mid-September, the LA native dropped “Till The Club Close” featuring Lil Jon, Fivio Foreign, and Begetz. A certified banger, the joint puts the Grammy winner’s skill as an MC on full display.
“I ain’t gonna lie, I fuck with her,” Fivio told TMZ about working with Haddish. “Her energy — her shit different, boy. And she’s funny as hell for real.”
He continued: “After the shoot, she had me with Dave Chappelle, and my other son — and they was like, mad funny. I ain’t gonna lie. This shit number one! This shit going to number one!”
Haddish has never released a full-length album, but she has put out a string of singles. In the past few years, she’s worked with Snoop Dogg, Jada Pinkett Smith and Begetz, among others. Her brief yet solid catalog is a testament to her talents, and that’s most likely why she landed collaborations with Lil Jon and E-40 over the summer.
Most recently, Kodak Black agreed to record music with her during an Instagram Live stream in late October and the pair agreed to link up during Haddish’s visit to Florida this month.
