ScHoolboy Q has stayed true to his promise of giving fans a peek at his upcoming album every week, and the latest installments of his rollout are now here.
On Tuesday (February 20), the Top Dawg Entertainment rapper dropped two new singles from Blue Lips, which is due out on March 1.
On the brief and succinct “Cooties,” he reflects on how far he’s come and raps: “The scars on the back of me healed/ Why God blessed me? I never deserved it/ Followed my purpose/ They put the blunts down, I opened the curtains.”
Contrarily, “Love Birds” featuring Devin Malik and label mate Lance Skiiiwalker only has ad-libs from Q.
Like every other preview so far, both tracks were accompanied by videos that share similar patterns — blue tones, footage from inside a studio and on the golf course. It is worth noting that the two most recent visuals do stand out for featuring long-take camera shots, which previous releases didn’t.

ScHoolboy Q has had the Hip Hop community’s attention ever since he announced his next project, and he’s been escalating the excitement with new pieces from it every Tuesday.
Last week, the 37-year-old MC released the third single from the 17-track record. Filled to the rim with bars, the high-energy “Yeern 101” was released alongside a music video that puts the rapper’s skill on full display.
“Made a livin’ off game, you should get it on film/ I ain’t never your kind, late but I’m really on time/ Girl, what you put in your mind, I ain’t diggin’ your sign,” he spits on the first verse of the chorus-less joint.
The visual package features a range of striking imagery. Through several abstract frames, the Blank Face hitmaker plays golf, walks the red carpet, speeds in a vintage Volkswagen Beetle with his clique, and even transforms into a cartoon briefly.
The video ends with someone sweeping up a load of smashed glass on a studio floor as Q rides around on a bicycle. Toward the end of the new “Love Birds” video, people can be seen sweeping the fragments off the floors.
As part of the upcoming LP’s rollout, ScHoolboy Q also launched a new vlog series two weeks ago with an episode titled “wHy not?” In it, he can be seen hanging out with his French bulldog, at a medical office, on the golf course and, of course, in the studio.
The second episode, “I’m so good at tHis,” is out now. Watch it here.
