Preview Group Exhibition “The New wave uncut” MSK Eastside Gallery Moscow

Here is a preview of a group exhibition in Russia “The New Wave Uncut”. Located in Moscow Russia MSK Eastside Gallery has invited several Russian artists working in multiple mediums. Taking inspiration from the 80′s New York scene and historical exhibitions New Wave Uncut revisits a similar concept and engages our continuing relationship as artists with the Urban landscape. Russia as well as Poland have been a hotbed of emerging talent in the Urban art genre and “New Wave Uncut” is an important exhibition documenting this emerging group of artists. Khalik Allah: Camera Ministry

Today I have the pleasure of highlighting the work of the god, Khalik Allah. Strapped with a full-manual Nikon F2, a super low-aperture lens and some rolls of low-ISO film, he works mostly at night on 125th and Lexington in Harlem preforming his Camera Ministry. His work can be described as visual representations of things you might’ve heard of in many Killah Priest verses. He photographs where few photographers dare to explore providing a stunning body of work which gives us a very raw and extremely real representation of street life found on that corner. Peace world! Today, we only gonna focus on one specific department in graffiti: Fonts. That’s it. Straight up fonts, you know? Block letters, well-proportioned rollers, scripts, logo replicas, etc… Whatever the fuck you wanna call it! Montreal’s hardest hitters bring lots of madness to our cold streets. The font distribution comes in outstanding numbers. Various bangers from many different writers can be found all-city, from the highway’s most notorious spots to downtown’s hottest rooftops .
