To many outside observers, the music industry appears to be glamorous and unattainable, accessible only to a lucky few able to devote their lives to their passion. In 2019, industry vet Noelle Chesnut Whitmore had a vision to demystify the music industry, making it more accessible to everyday music fans who have a dream, but do not have connections or might not even know that there are careers behind the scenes. With that mission in mind, Whitmore started More In Music, an organization dedicated to music industry education and providing professionals of all ages with the tools needed to build a lasting career.
More In Music is a multi-faceted nonprofit, with a mission to educate the public about music career paths, inspire the next generation of music industry leaders, and create a culture of empowerment formed through shared experience and personal connection. More In Music aims to bridge generation gaps through skill workshops, panel discussions with industry pros, networking events, mentorship programs, internships, podcasts, and digital programming. Using her connections formed for years working at companies like Goldenvoice and The Recording Academy/GRAMMY Awards, and, as CEO of the Peace & Purpose Agency, running marketing campaigns for clients like Netflix, BMW, and AFROPUNK, Whitmore has invited a list of speakers and panelists from all over the industry, including Merck Mercuriadis, the founder and CEO of Hipgnosis Song Fund, and dozens of other executives from all sectors of the industry.
More In Music announces More In Music Conference, slated for Spring 2025 in Los Angeles. The multi-day Conference will include panel conversations, workshops and keynotes from a diverse complement of the music industry’s most influential leaders. The Conference will provide college students and the Los Angeles community-at-large with the opportunity to gain exposure to careers in the music industry, and learn from some of the most accomplished executives in the business. More In Music’s relaunch arrives with a heartwarming video, illustrating Whitmore’s childhood goals and her desire to help others achieve their dreams.
Now preparing for a late March 2025 launch, More In Music Conference looks forward to inspiring all generations of music professionals, who will help the industry reach a more equitable and ethical future.
Stay tuned for further announcements about the More In Music Conference, including the official unveiling of the Advisory Board and student cohort.
