Kompass Music Group puts new spin on artist management

By: Anand Harsh

A few of our favorite artist managers in the electronic music industry have formed a new alliance, broadening the scope of what representation means in our corner of the world.

Jay Rogovin, Jade Gaines, and Alec Donkin, all formerly of C3 Management, have joined forces with Blake Coppelson of the mammoth YouTube channel Proximity, as well as managers David Kissinger and David Giovannini formerly of Envisioned Arts, among others to form Kompass Music Group. KMG reps artists very familiar to fans of The Untz and its festival including EPROM, CharlestheFirst, Chee, Integrate, Frequent, Khiva, Esseks, VCTRE, potions, Supertask, and Of The Trees.

Further partnering with 4 o’clock Consulting with its ties DanceSafe and Good Night Out, the emphasis for this new management firm is in cultivating a healthier music industry in regards to sexual violence, harm reduction, mental health, diversity, and inclusion.

One of our favorite rising artists, NotLö, had this to say about KMG’s mission. “I’m so excited to be apart of Kompass! Not only do I look up to every artist on the team, but i really love the direction of diversity and inclusivity Kompass is pioneering into the scene!”

As curated events become the norm and the industry’s thought leaders move toward more intentional events with philanthropic facets, we predict more management firms will follow the path blazed by Kompass’ managers and artists.
