If you’ve been getting your drum and bass news from overseas, chances are you’ve stumbled upon dnbdojo.co.uk.
Its proprietor is Hex, a DnB DJ out of Glasgow, who could be found at his residency as part of the city’s longest running drum & bass night, Symbiosis, but now that things are pretty well good and shuttered, he’s got some more time on his hands.
Or halftime, I should say.
Enter the Half Cut EP, which is out February 26th on U.S. imprint, Free Love Digi. Dropping the BPMs by 50%, the 6-track EP offers up some exciting takes on the halftime sound from across the pond. Today’s premiere “Caffeine Shuffle” uses the same techniques and principles American halftime producers are using, but flips the script entirely.
The whole collection is fantastic, and from one journo to another, I bid Hex a successful campaign.
