It’s been nearly four years since a hard drive crash turned Boris Gladkikh off the production of his follow-up to 2016’s After Death. But a sonic reinspiration and the unlimited free time provided by COVID-19 has rescued Gladkill‘s Ossuary from the digital abyss.
Free from a timeline and the pressures of expectations, Gladkikh was able to explore newer forms of electronic music and stretch his creative legs outside of the demands of the heavy bass scene. The result is a moody, wavey, and pensive mood. The lead single “Ashes” has already given us a taste, and now “Analog Whispers” demonstrates that Gladkill’s melodies and instrumentation are at the heart of this record, not bang-your-head bass synths.
On May 18th the entire collection will be in listener’s hands, and the long wait will be made worthwhile.
