Prodigious pop producer du jour Emile Haynie delivers a good-trip-gone-wrong visual for the new single “Falling Apart” off his recently released solo debut We Fall LP. The number begins with a lovely string arrangement, mutating from heartbreaking balladry to big, boisterous anthem at about the halfway mark with an influx of piano-ey touches, Andrew Wyatt‘s silk croon (which can also be found prominently featured on Mark Ronson‘s Uptown Special) and the always graceful Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson manning the floaty ooohhhs and aahhhs in the back. If this is your first taste of the pysche-pop goodies Haynie’s been churning out over the years, you may want to get familiar with some of his former production credits for Kanye West (“Runaway,”) Kid Cudi (“Mr. Rager,”) Emeli Sandé (“My Kind Of Love”) Jessie Ware (“Pieces”) and the entirety of Lana Del Rey‘s Born To Die LP. His solo debut finds him paired with a lengthy list of former collaborators like Del Rey, Dev Hynes, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Sampha, Lykke Li and so many more.
