Rero Opened his first Solo Exhibition of 2015 at Fabien Castanier Gallery in Los Angeles over the weekend. The exhibition titled “Gated Community” showcased many familiar themes in the artists work as well as some larger installation pieces. A mixed media installation and a sculptural series of book pieces were also exhibited. The press release states that the artist is at the “forefront of an urban conceptual experience,” which would explain the direction takes with his recent work. Leading up to the show I was getting updates of Rero’s insitu installations in the desert and Salton Sea. The photographs documented the artists interventions and interaction with the landscape. …

Moneyless Roma 2015

Posted on:

We talked to Moneyless in the Fall of 2014 about his signature geometric style and what might be in store for 2015. He mentioned a new direction, something he was searching for as well as a move towards something new. Well we now know atleast what direction he is headed with his first mural for 2015 painted this week in Rome. Moneyless has taken to reduction with his signature marks further minimizing an already stripped down aesthetic. Very impressed with Moneyless and his ability to always move first before its too late, progressing as well as deconstructing even the most signature of marks. Bravo GF

SatOne “Melting Point” Chennai India

Posted on:

Mr SatOne starts 2015 with a Bang. This new mural was painted in Chennai India over a train depot. Pushing things to another level SatOne channels his inner wildstyle and creates a dynamic composition on the mural, bringing tremendous energy and a vibrant palette. I am feeling the flow of this new piece as it moves in rhythm along the wall resting at the base of the wall. GF MELTING POINT – SatOne 2015 Chennai / India (fotos by Jaya Kamur)

Video Unreleased Recorded Interview Rammellzee on Mo’Wax

Posted on:

Probably the Best Interview your going to Listen to for awhile. Its worth the full listen. GF Via Mowaxplease This is something we did not see coming : in November 2014 the Vinyl Factory teamed up with Mo’ Wax to release a record. The most surprising thing about it was that it’s not music. It’s the recording of an interview of Rammellzee that Ed Gill did for Mo’ Wax back in 1995. The tape was lost so it never surfaced, until James Lavelle started digging into his archives for the Urban Archaeology exhibition. The interview was first published in the Mo’ Wax book, and was later available to listen as part of the Urban Archaeology exhibition in headphones. So now that we have full access to it, I thought…

Tanc Solo Exhibition “AUTOMATISM” Galerie Wallworks

Posted on:

Tanc opened his latest solo exhibition in Paris in January, luckily the exhibition is still up and you can see it at Galerie Wallworks. The show titled “Automatism” is self titled in a way, Tanc has taken inspiration from the act of an automatic mark. The minimal monochromatic works allow the mark to take precedence in the work. Whether it is a vibrant colored background or the absence of color with White Automatism focuses the act of the mark in repetition over and over. Like a typewriter that pounds the paper and returns onto the next line, Tanc creates a automatic response with his gesture sometimes coherent other times…
