It’s times like this that I’m glad I’ve still kept the lights on at Unkut Dot Com these past twenty years, if only to provide a valuable resource for YouTube screenshots in 2024. We get to relive the hilarious era of when everyone was going hell for leather in the comment sections – except now we get those comment paragraphs extended into ten minute YouTube videos!
In InternetS terms, this was sparked off by a jerky post I’d put together talking about Rap Videos Are Corny, which sparked Kool Kim to pop-up in the comment section to defend the infamous Blue Cheese puppet. This led to me giving him a call, resulting in an interview and an offer from the UMC’s frontman to pen a guest article for my site – KRS-One – Hip-Hop Sucks Because of You!.
In the resulting flurry of comments, KRS-One’s brother Kenny Parker pointed out what he considered to be major historical inaccuracies, which gave me the opportunity to email him and set-up an extended phone interview where Kenny detailed the PM Dawn being removed the stage incident, the many problems that BDP faced in the Sex and Violence era and hilarious tales of KRS trying to find his style as a youngster.
Kenny has been putting in work over at this YouTube page for the past couple of years, and his most recent episode inspired a video response from Kool Kim – complete with skits! Grab a few cans of Guinness and get stuck in below. Cheers to Kenny and Kim!
