LabRat throws all sorts of curveballs into ‘Epoch’

By: Anand Harsh

The Wormhole Music Group has been pushing LabRat tunes across my plate for years and years now. Dating way back, because we’re all old as fuck now. In fact, LabRat along with Jamburglar was one of the finalists in The Untz Challenge III with an insane tune that you can go find on your own, because I’m lazy.

Times change, though, and LabRat’s sound has changed with it, but he’s still incredibly technically bold and loves to squeeze every inch of bass he can into a track. What starts off with a Daft Punkian intro in “Epoch” and drops into a CloZee-style festival trap anthem then breaks into a dubby throwback island vibe with some insane transitions sprinkled in between. This guy has always been sharp, but the Changes EP heralds some major new improvements in the sound.

This bad boy is out on August 10th. Do not sleep on any Wormhole releases, otherwise you’ll look like a schmuck around your dinner table.
