It’s been a while since I had introduced a DJ on the blog and this time I found one who doesn’t even consider himself a DJ. His music… I mean… Maaan, I wish there were more “Not Really DJs” like that around. When I randomly stumbled upon his mixtapes, I thought that “this DJ has a good music taste”. Then, I left him a message on Soundcloud, hoping to hear back some time… Same day we have produced this post!
Arik Landa aka Reekoo AlwaysArtistic was born in Uzbekistan in 1992, living in Israel at the moment, representing Killa Cyphers crew from Ashkelon city, which was founded in 2009. That crew is just… a group of friends who knew each other for many years and who are always ready to rock the Hip Hop culture.
Just like many other break DJs, Arik had started his life in The Culture as a bboy. That was in 2004. And in 2009 he started making mixtapes using the computer software. Just for fun, so his fellas have some music to practice to. Last year he bought truntables and started practicing the real thing.
Arik Landa aka Reekoo AlwaysArtistic prefers playing the 80’s and 90’s music. It makes him feel like as if he lived back then. He also likes such styles as Old School Rap, Disco and Funk from back in the days. Also, chillout music as it gives him the feeling of being calm. Shanti, shanti.
